TESLIN film is a unique synthetic paper that is formulated with a microporous polyolefin and silica matrix. This microporous composition allows the material to absorb and bond with inks, adhesives, coatings, and laminating films. TESLIN synthetic substrate is a durable, secure, and highly printable material that is known for its excellent lamination qualities. A little about TESLIN® synthetic material
TESLIN synthetic material is manufactured by PPG, a global supplier of coatings, paint, and specialty materials. Besides its unique engineered microporous matrix bond, TESLIN synthetic material has exclusive performance benefits such as breathability, lightweight, insulation techniques, and cushioning.
Durable
TESLIN synthetic substrate is ready to face any harsh environment or punishing application. Its abrasion resistance protects printed graphics. Thermal stability and chemical and water resistance avoids damage from steam-pressing and dry-cleaning. It survives gamma radiation and other sterilization methods. It can also withstand drastic temperature changes.
Bondable
TESLIN synthetic substrate provides multi-dimensional strength and extensive service life for laminated print products. Its bonds are 10x stronger than other synthetic substrates, avoiding the need for edge seals and adhesives. It can also easily be die-cut to any shape.
Printable
Delivering vibrant and crisp color reproduction, TESLIN synthetic substrate is compatible with a wide range of print technologies and meets the demands of those that require high levels of processing flexibility. The material prints like conventional pulp paper, and doesn’t require any special inks or drying equipment. Its quick absorption provides for quick dry-times. It has the ability to be duplex- and dual-surface printed while maintaining high-quality results. Greater design and creativity is achievable through converting methods and finishing techniques.
Secure
TESLIN synthetic substrate is inherently tamper-evident, making it a preferred choice for security applications such as identification cards and RFID tags. Its absorption of inks and toners create a virtually indestructible printed surface. Its adhesive bond to other materials resists mechanical separation so that when alteration is attempted, it permanently distorts to offer tamper-evident protection. The material also provides valuable cushioning that protects embedded components, and it exhibits lower dielectric constant, making it static-dissipative.
